Naval Unit. Can transport two ground units. No attacking capabilities.

Those that are experienced with the AW series know full well just how useful Lander units can be in missions with any small amounts of water. They are built at a relatively low cost, and can ferry two units from Seaport to Seaport, or to and/or from Shoals.
I, personally, have found it useful in some situations, to use them as a ferry to move heavy hitting units past land areas bogged down with tanks and such, just sitting, waiting to attack anything I move within range.
Of course, they are vital for establishing your troops on an isolated, unoccupied island, too.
Naval Unit. Strong against air and submarine units. Transports two helicopters.

In the first two Advance Wars games, Cruisers could only attack air and submarine units, however, with the release of AWDS came along the ability for Cruisers to fire upon other ship units.
Unfortunately, their fire power against other ships leaves a little to be desired in most situations.
With a high vision rating, the Cruiser can be likened to Recons when it comes to scouting abilities... and with the apparent abundance of Fog of War in Dark Conflict, then these will no doubt be very useful units once again.
